Some projects lead to more than one finished detail. They build trust.
For this Oakville home, Jim first contacted Wood Job Finish Carpentry because he wanted to replace the older six-panel interior doors throughout his house with a cleaner raised two-panel door style. The goal was to update the home without changing the existing openings or turning the project into a larger renovation.
After the door replacement was completed, Jim was happy with the result and shared a five-star Google review. Two months later, he contacted us again — this time to install crown moulding on the second floor of his home.
For a small family-owned finish carpentry business, that kind of repeat trust means a lot.

Replacing Old Six-Panel Interior Doors
Six-panel interior doors are common in many homes, but they can make an interior feel dated depending on the style of the space.
Jim wanted a cleaner and more updated look, so he chose raised two-panel interior doors. This style still has character, but it creates a simpler, more refined appearance than the older six-panel design.
Our job was to prepare and install the new doors so they would fit properly into the existing frames.
Matching Existing Hinge and Hardware Locations
One of the most important parts of this project was preparation.
Because the new doors were being installed into existing frames, each door had to be prepared carefully with the hinge locations and hardware positions matched to the original setup.
That meant measuring and marking the exact hinge spots, preparing the handle and latch locations, and making sure each door was ready before installation.
When this step is handled properly, the door replacement feels clean and efficient. When it is rushed, the result can be uneven gaps, poor swing, rubbing doors, or hardware that does not line up correctly.

A Clean Door Swap Throughout the Home
Once the doors were prepared, we swapped the old interior doors for the new raised two-panel doors throughout the house.
With interior door replacement, consistency matters. Each door needs to close properly, sit correctly in the frame, and have clean reveals around the edges. Even though the process may sound simple, every opening in an existing home can be slightly different.
Our focus was to make each door look natural in its frame and give the home a more consistent, updated finish.

A Five-Star Review from Jim
After the door replacement was complete, Jim shared this kind five-star Google review:
“Incredible job!
Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in replacing all my interior doors.
Worked clean and organized.
His work was impeccable!!!
Highly recommended!”
Reviews like this are deeply appreciated because they speak to more than the finished product. Clean work habits, organization, knowledge, and helpful communication all matter when working inside someone’s home.

Invited Back for Crown Molding
Two months after the interior door replacement, Jim contacted us again to install crown moulding on the second floor of his home.
This second project gave the upstairs rooms a more finished and connected look. Crown moulding can change the feel of a space by adding definition where the walls meet the ceiling, but it needs careful layout, clean cuts, and proper corner work to look right.

For this installation, the focus was on keeping the lines clean, the corners tight, and the moulding balanced with the proportions of the rooms.
Being invited back for another project is one of the strongest signs that a client is comfortable with the work, the process, and the person they allowed into their home.
For homeowners considering a similar second-floor upgrade, our crown molding and fine trim service page explains how we approach layout, corner work, proportion, and long-lasting finish details.
A Complete Finish Carpentry Upgrade
Together, the two projects helped update Jim’s home in a practical and refined way.
The raised two-panel doors gave the interior a cleaner, more current style. The crown moulding added another layer of finish detail to the second floor. Both upgrades worked together to make the home feel more complete without requiring a full renovation.
That is often the value of finish carpentry. It improves the way a home feels through details that are used and seen every day.
