Some projects begin with finish carpentry and grow into something more personal.
This project in Mississauga started as a main floor trim package for Debra and Chris, a very kind couple who were renovating approximately 900 square feet on the main floor of their home. From the beginning, they were warm, thoughtful, and a pleasure to work with.
They hired Wood Job Finish Carpentry to complete the finishing details that would help bring their renovation together.

A Main Floor Trim Package
The scope of work included a range of interior finish carpentry details across the main floor, including:
- interior doors
- window casings
- archway trim
- service window trim
- baseboards
- shoe moulding
This was the type of project where many individual details needed to work together. Each opening, transition, and trim line had to feel consistent so the finished renovation would look clean and complete.
On projects like this, the trim package does more than finish the edges of the room. It gives structure to the space, connects different surfaces, and helps the home feel properly completed.

Bringing the Main Floor Together
With main floor renovations, consistency matters.
Doors need to sit properly. Window casing needs to frame the openings cleanly. Archways need to feel balanced. Baseboards and shoe moulding need to tie the entire space together without looking like an afterthought.
Our goal was to complete the trim package in a way that felt natural to the home and respectful of the renovation as a whole. The finished work helped bring continuity to the main floor and gave the space a more refined look.
Debra and Chris were very happy with the result.

A Second Idea: A Custom Accent Wall
After seeing the finished carpentry work, Debra later reached out with another idea.
She shared a design sample from Pinterest and said she wanted to have a similar accent wall created in their living room. We took that inspiration and built the accent wall to suit the space in their home.
This is one of the things we enjoy most about finish carpentry. Sometimes clients begin with one part of a renovation, and once trust is built, they feel comfortable moving forward with another detail that gives the home more personality.
The accent wall added another layer of character to the living room and turned a simple wall into a more intentional feature.
For homeowners considering a similar feature, our custom accent wall and shiplap service page explains how we design and install geometric accent walls, paneling, board and batten, and other architectural wall features.

From Functional Finish Work to a Decorative Feature
Together, these two parts of the project worked well as a complete story.
The trim package gave the renovated main floor its clean and finished structure. The accent wall added a more personal design detail to the living space.
One part was about completing the renovation properly. The other was about adding a custom feature that made the space feel more like home.
That combination is often where finish carpentry has the most value.
A Five-Star Review from Chris
After the project, Chris shared this thoughtful 5-star Google review:
“I apologize for the delay in this posting Jack. As a professional in my field of work when my wife and I hired Jack we wern’t sure what to expect but when he was finished in completing our 900sq feet of area in our main floor, trim, arch ways, base boards and doors, I met my match in professionalism.
His quality of workmanship was just impeccable 100%. He is a 5++ in rating.
Grab him before you have to wait months for an appointment.”
It is always meaningful to receive feedback like this, especially when it comes from someone who values professionalism and workmanship in his own field.

Finish Carpentry for Renovations in Mississauga
This Mississauga project is a good example of how finish carpentry can support both the practical and personal sides of a home renovation.
The trim package helped complete the main floor with clean detail work across doors, windows, archways, and baseboards. The custom accent wall added a design feature inspired by Deborah’s own vision.
For Debra and Chris, the result was a more complete, more personal home.
